Brooke Ricker was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Sociology. She has taught a variety of English classes, including elementary school, adult basic education, first-year university composition, and writing for international graduate students.
In 2005/2006 she taught English at a private language school in Vladimir, Russia. She recently completed her Master’s in TESOL at the University of New Hampshire, where her research focused on developing EFL textbooks for local contexts. She is currently serving as the English Language Fellow at the University of Nis’ Faculty of Philosophy, teaching classes in writing, vocabulary, debate, and American culture.
